What others want you to know...

Having exchange students in our lives enriched our lives immeasurably.It widens your world. It is so exciting to see your home, town, country and your life through someone's eyes. Building a friendship which will last for generations is a wondrous thing. We were able to see Germany and travel from there to see all the surrounding countries. We shared joys and sorrows. We learned about their education system, their walking and not taking a car, their lack of t.v. channels in the 80's, their difference in culture. But all of this only served to show us how very alike all of humankind is. We cry when hurt, we worry over our families and we all want peace in the world. The friendships built are forever friendships and include also husbands, children, parents, wider family and friends. Sharing your life with a person from another land cannot be overrated. It is sensationally fun, stimulating and creates a hands-on learning environment for you and for the visitor. I thank God every day for the good sense we had in opening our home to exchange students.
